Spring Skincare Tips for Healthy Skin

With winter being a recent memory, it is time to look ahead to the spring and summer months.  The sunshine and warmer temperatures may have you in a better mood but your skin may not be in the same state.  After being bundled up in heavy sweaters, long pants and boots your skin may be dry, rough and flaky. It is most likely in need of a spring cleaning.  Below are some tips that will help get your skin ready for the upcoming seasons.

As the weather gets warmer and there is more humidity in the air your skin will retain more moisture.  The need for heavy creams and lotions may not be as important as during the winter months.  To keep your skin healthy and your complexion clear during the spring and summer seasons use a light moisturizing oil that is rich in antioxidants and nutrients.  Natural oils will help lock in moisture and keep your skin supple all season long.  All natural oils such as 100% Coconut Oil and 100% Argan Oil are both lightweight oils that provide the nutrients necessary for glowing skin.  Body oils such as Cocoa Butter Body Oil and Coconut Moisturizing Oil are lightly scented and deeply penetrate your skin leaving it silky smooth. For a fragrance free alternative Vitamin E Body Oil is a great option.

100% Coconut OilExfoliate your skin to slough away dead skin cells and unblock pores. Gently rub a washcloth or loofah over your arms, legs and feet.  You can even make your own body scrub by combining 1 cup of a natural oil- Almond, Grapeseed, Avocado, a 1/2 cup of sea salt and 4 - 10 drops of your favorite essential oil.  After exfoliating, your skin will feel refreshed and ready for spring fashions.

Don’t forget about your feet.  It is time to wear sandals and flip flops and the last thing we want is dry, cracked feet. Apply a rich moisturizer to your feet several times a day.  Before bed apply a specially formulated foot cream to your feet and cover them with socks.  The socks will help lock in moisture and soften your feet.  In the morning, buff away any remaining skin and the result will be soft, sandal ready feet.

Drinks lot of water!! Water keeps your entire body hydrated and healthy.  Drinking water throughout the day will hydrate your skin from the inside out and the result will be healthier glowing skin.
